SIA 2023 VOTY/SOTY Award Recipients

SIA and members closed out 2023 with the annual Holiday Party at The Alexandrian Hotel in Old Town Alexandria. The recipients of the VOTY/SOTY were recognized: Alison Zielinski, Supernal was this year's Volunteer of the Year and Mike Carey, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) - Licensing was the Speaker of the Year.  A big thank you to them and to all of our other volunteers are the reason SIA conferences, virtual speaker events and our publications can happen seamlessly. When you see our VOTY/SOTY recipients next, please extend them a congratulations.

Scholarship Application

The SIA Scholarship is open to rising junior or senior undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in a full or part-time program at an accredited U.S. college or university, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Scholarships may be awarded in any amount up to $5,000 per recipient and will be paid directly to the college or university. 2024 SIA Scholarship Application is now open.

SIA BIS January 2024 Presentation (Free Member Event)

January 24, 2024 | 1:00-2:00 PM

SIA welcomes Senior Export Policy Analysts Tim Mooney and Sharron Cook, Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security. Mr. Mooney and Ms. Cook will provide an overview of the new semiconductor rules and discuss the latest developments including status of the interim final rules and FAQs development. Both speakers will be taking questions.

Now is the time to register for the sought-after Virtual Winter Basics. The Winter Basics provides the building blocks of trade compliance from the USG Regulators and Industry speakers. The conference is daily from 1pm to 5pm, February 5-9, 2024.
