Insitu is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented trade compliance licensing professional to support its robust international portfolio of clients. Our ideal candidate has experience with US exports, deep knowledge of ITAR and EAR license management, and thrives on collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.  In this role, you will prepare, submit, and administer export agreements, hardware and marketing licenses, and commodity jurisdiction requests. You will be part of a collaborative team of trade compliance professionals focused on creating business enabling strategies through the application of trade control expertise.

This role will have a diversity of responsibilities, and will focus on export license writing, license lifecycle management, and jurisdictional classification of technology in the Unmanned Aerial System marketplace. This position will act as an empowered official for the company and be responsible for the review and constructive feedback of other team members’ work. You will coordinate with stakeholders and identify export/import licensing requirements for new opportunities and ongoing customer programs.

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for supporting varied trade compliance operations for the company to include:

• Drafting and managing export license applications for customer deliveries and engineering and development activities to include Technical Assistance Agreements, Warehouse Distribution Agreements, and Manufacturing License Agreements, Hardware Licenses, exemption documentation and Internal Compliance Plans
• Reviewing technical data for proper export classification and compliance with export authorities prior to export
• Coordinating watch list screening and providing licensing support for international travelers
• Managing license administration, monitoring use and valuation
• Maintaining documentation of exported products, ensuring compliance with required regulatory reporting, and managing license lifecycle
• Collaborating with trade compliance team members and engineering staff to provide export classifications for new technologies, major systems, parts, components, and technical information

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• 7+ years’ experience with drafting and management of U.S. Export authorities (U.S. Department of State, Department of Commerce)
• Knowledge of ITAR and EAR license lifecycle management against U.S. regulatory requirements and license conditions; strong background in export jurisdiction classification
• Experience researching and evaluating technologies against U.S. Export Regulations (ITAR and EAR) to determine export classification jurisdiction to include drafting of Commodity Jurisdictions and CCATS applications.
• Experience interfacing and maintaining strong relationships with technical and programmatic teams to effectively facilitate role objectives
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance

About the Role
Are you a seasoned trade compliance professional with a passion for customs regulations and client consulting? GHY is looking for a Sr. US Trade Services Analyst to join our growing team. Reporting to the Director of US Trade Services, you’ll serve as a subject matter expert, mentor colleagues, and provide strategic guidance to clients on complex trade matters.

What You’ll Do

• Advise clients on tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, and free trade agreement qualification
• Draft and coordinate CBP Binding Ruling Requests
• Support compliance verifications and post-entry corrections
• Prepare scope of work proposals for billable projects
• Communicate with CBP and Partner Government Agencies
• Identify client risks and refund opportunities
• Generate reports and support duty drawback coordination
• Compile customs packages and manage post-entry filings
• Maintain logs for refunds, CBP document requests, and entry status
• Create content for trade-related presentations and support business development
• Research and resolve supplemental duty bills and penalties
• Participate in weekly team huddles and contribute to ongoing process improvements

What You Bring

Advanced knowledge of:

• Tariff classification and Explanatory Notes
• U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR)

Proficiency in:

• Executing customs entries for all transportation modes
• ACE functionality and brokerage software
• Microsoft Excel and the full Microsoft Office Suite

Experience & Education

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the customs industry
• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation
• U.S. Customs Broker License
• Completion of Grade 12 education

Working Conditions

• Minimal supervision required
• Primarily desk-based (90%) with occasional standing or travel (5% each)

Location: Pembina, ND or Columbia, SC
Remote Option: Available for qualified candidates
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM CST (40 hours/week)
Holidays: One statutory holiday per year will be required to be worked

Job Summary

The Customs Associate at Importal Customs LLC will be responsible for preparing and filing customs entries in accordance with CBP Regulations for a diverse portfolio of clients. This role involves providing best-in-class customer service, contributing to product development, driving process improvements, and offering trade advisory and consulting services. The ideal candidate will excel in accuracy, compliance knowledge, and multitasking in a remote environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and file customs entries for a variety of clients, ensuring compliance with CBP Regulations.
• Review and verify import documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Classify goods according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on entry status.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in entry writing or a similar role customs brokerage role
• Strong knowledge of CBP Regulations and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in customs software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensed Customs Broker (LCB).
• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS).
• Experience with international trade compliance.
• Familiarity with various import/export documentation and processes.
• Experience working with a wide variety of clients in different industries.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 annually in addition to an equity offering. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. About The Role

Peraton is hiring for a Trade Compliance Advisor to join our growing Trade Compliance team in our legal department. This position will support efforts pertaining to US government agencies across the intelligence, space, cyber, defense, and civilian markets. The candidate must be in the DC, MD, Northern Va Metro area. 

• Requires working knowledge of the ITAR, EAR and FTR to be able to research, analyze, interpret and advise functional departments on compliance with U.S. international trade laws and regulations.

Details
