Job Description

Overview

The Junior Screening Analyst supports the organisation’s compliance and risk‑management obligations by conducting sanctions screening, KYC checks, supplier due diligence, and false‑positive resolution. The role involves working with screening technologies ensuring that customers, suppliers, and third parties are assessed against global regulatory requirements. This is an ideal junior role for someone looking to build a career in sanctions, export controls, and third‑party risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily sanctions and restricted‑party screening on customers, suppliers, and third parties using screening tools.
  • Review and clear false positives, documenting rationale and maintaining accurate screening logs, case notes, and audit trails.
  • Identify, review, and escalate potential matches against:
  • U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations
  • EU Dual-Use Regulations
  • Wassenaar Arrangement requirements
  • Conduct compliance checks including identity verification, beneficial ownership, and basic risk profiling.
  • Escalate potential matches, complex cases or high‑risk findings to senior analysts.
  • Assist with data quality improvements and screening‑tool optimisation.
  • Contribute to reporting on screening volumes, trends, and risk findings.

Skills & Experience

  • At least 2 years relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of sanctions and trade compliance principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in interpreting screening results and applying structured reasoning to clearing false positives and escalating true matches.
  • Good written communication for documenting decisions.
  • Comfortable working with screening tools and data platforms.
  • Linguistic:
  • English — mandatory
  • Mandarin — desirable (advantageous for reviewing APAC‑based suppliers and documentation)

Desirable

  • Experience with Descartes Visual Compliance, SAP GTS, Dow Jones RiskCenter, LexisNexis Firco, e2open
  • Exposure to KYC, due diligence, or compliance operations
