CANCELLATION POLICY: There is a $35 fee for all cancellations and bank returned checks. Refunds will not be provided for cancellation requests received after February 17, 2012.

SIA members and attendees are expected to uphold the highest standards of personal conduct at all SIA functions. Members and/or attendees shall not solicit business or otherwise seek any private or personal financial gain in attending or participating in any SIA meeting or function; including the distribution of material not approved in advance by the SIA Board. The 2012 Spring Conference will be held on 7-8 May 2012 in Orlando, FL. Details will be provided in early 2012. The conference and the SIA block of rooms are in the Swan. While there is some "how to" information provided at these conferences, they focus on more complex issues such as: recent policy and regulatory changes; foreign party due diligence reviews; export licensing and compliance requirements for mergers and acquisitions; recent enforcement actions; and customs and shipping issues.

The conferences are designed to address prevalent industry issues as highlighted by our membership. Speakers are drawn from the export controls community, including senior government officials from the Departments of State, Commerce, Homeland Security and Treasury.

The 2012 Summer Back to Basics Conference will be held on 23-25 July at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, VA. The Basics conferences are geared to the newcomer to export controls or to experienced professionals who are seeking refresher training. These conferences provide an overview of export controls and the ITAR, followed by "how to" sessions covering topics such as: drafting and submitting requests for export authorizations (e.g., DSP forms, and Agreements); developing and implementing ITAR compliance programs; and using export authorizations and ITAR exemptions.

Registration Substitutions

You must notify SIA’s Business Manager by email at least 48 hrs in advance of the conference if you wish to send a substitute participant. Registered attendees may not "share" a single registration between multiple company personnel without prior coordination (at least 48 hours) and authorization from SIA’s Business Manager.
