DRESS CODE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. ACCEPTABLE ATTIRE IS COLLARED SHIRTS, LONG PANTS, WALKING SHORTS AND GOLF SKIRTS (FOR WOMEN). UNACCEPTABLE ATTIRE IS DENIM, CUTOFFS, T-SHIRTS, TANK TOPS AND ATHLETIC SHORTS.

The 2012 Summer Back to Basics Conference will be held on 23-25 July at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, VA. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Crystal Gateway Marriott for the dates of the conference. The SIA room rate is $159/night plus tax (single/double occupancy). The roomblock has been reserved until June 29, 2012, or until sold out, whichever occurs first. You can make reservations online by clicking HERE OR by calling 1-800-228-9290 or 703-920-3230.

There is a $35 fee for all cancellations and bank returned checks. Refunds will not be provided for cancellation requests received after July 13, 2012.

SIA Member & Attendee Code of Conduct

Membership in SIA and attendance at SIA functions is subject to the observance of SIA’s Code of Conduct. Any member or attendee who violates this Code is subject to expulsion from membership and may be excluded from future SIA events.

The meetings and functions of SIA are designed to facilitate the free exchange of ideas and information. Information from these sessions is not for attribution or publication. Recording devices may not be used.

SIA members and attendees are expected to uphold the highest standards of personal conduct at all SIA functions. Members and/or attendees shall not solicit business or otherwise seek any private or personal financial gain in attending or participating in any SIA meeting or function; including the distribution of material not approved in advance by the SIA Board. The 2012 Fall Conference will be held on Thursday/Friday, 8-9 November at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, VA. The Fall Conference is targeted to the experienced exporter. While there is some "how to" information provided at these conferences, they focus on more complex issues such as: recent policy and regulatory changes; foreign party due diligence reviews; export licensing and compliance requirements for mergers and acquisitions; recent enforcement actions; and customs and shipping issues.

The conference is designed to address prevalent industry issues as highlighted by our membership. Speakers are drawn from the export controls community, including senior government officials from the Departments of State, Commerce, Homeland Security and Treasury.

Registration Substitutions

You must notify SIA’s Business Manager by email at least 48 hrs in advance of the conference if you wish to send a substitute participant. Registered attendees may not "share" a single registration between multiple company personnel without prior coordination (at least 48 hours) and authorization from SIA’s Business Manager.
