FD Associates was established in 1990. The company is backed by its President, Fae Daniels over twenty years experience in licensing and export compliance including her service to the Australian government at the Australian Embassy, where she was involved with commercial and Foreign Military Sales procurements, and the licensing and export of these items to Australia.

FD Associates also assists companies with the preparation of Commerce or State Department license applications and agreements. FD Associates is uniquely situated to provide this service. On any given day our company has over two hundred (200) license applications submitted on behalf of our clients, in review at the State Department or the Commerce Department. Depending on our clients’ requirements, we have assisted with the preparation of these applications, or we have reviewed and advised on client’ drafts, prior to submission. We also track the government review of these applications, making calls as necessary, and provide clients a weekly report of status of the review.
FD Associates provides training and audits of company procedures on the requirements of the ITAR and the EAR and assists in establishing company procedures to help ensure compliance with these regulations. Training and compliance programs are provided at our clients' facilities. We also provide bi-annual seminars in the Washington area close to our offices in McLean.

• Jenny Hahn, Partner and VP: Jenny has been with the company since 1992. In addition to being an expert in all matters associated with export licensing and compliance that FD Associates is involved with, Jenny is especially knowledgeable in matters pertaining to encryption licensing, infrared technologies and US Customs detentions and seizures.FD Associates mission and purpose is to provide guidance to small and medium size companies in export regulation, licensing, and compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). We offer a complete range of consulting and licensing services including assistance with commodity jurisdiction requests and export classifications for commercial items; registration with the Departments of State and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
• Paul Croarkin, Senior Associate: Paul brings to FD Associates his 15 years service at Howmet, an Alcoa company. Paul is our subject matter expert in licensing commercial/dual-use technology through the Department of Commerce.
• John Herzo: Senior Associate: John has been with the company since 2000 and has been involved in all facets of ITAR and EAR licensing. John applies his training in law at Whittier University to the support he provides to FD Associates.
