In 2008 SIA established a scholarship program for students pursuing a degree in the field of International Trade (political science; international relations; economics; international business). The $2,500 scholarships are paid directly to the college or university. The scholarship recipients also receive free admission to one of SIA’s “Basics” conferences.
To be eligible, a student must be a rising junior or senior undergraduate, or a graduate student, having a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and be sponsored by a member of SIA. The criteria for selection, are: proven interest or experience in international trade or related area, to include work or volunteer experience; current academic standing and performance; narrative and letter of recommendation from a professor or work colleague; and honors and extracurricular activities.
