BIS Publishes Compliance Guidelines
The U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has posted on its website a document entitled Compliance Guidelines: How to Develop an Effective Export Management and Compliance Program and Manual. This 145-page compliance roadmap has chapters on management commitment, risk assessment, drafting an Export Management and Compliance Program manual, compliance training, “cradle to grave” export compliance security and screening, recordkeeping, monitoring and auditing/assessing, and handling export compliance problems/violations.
